Almost Jazz is a jazz quartet comprised of four Rochester area musicians. Three are graduates of the Eastman Community Music School's Jazz Studies program while the fourth is a graduate of the Rochester Contemporary School of Music Percussion program. The ensemble specializes in bebop and the music of the Great American Songbook. The quartet is comprised of drums, bass, guitar, and saxophone. The ensemble is flexible in styles and has played everywhere from a Hawaiian Luau to a Texas Style Chili Cook-off to Fairport Canal Days. The quartet is currently spread out for college in Potsdam, New York City, Rochester, and Cleveland but often performs together when they have the chance when they are all home on breaks. They have been playing together for several years. Almost Jazz is sitting on the precipice of greatness. Well, Almost!
